Meet The Team

Daisychain isn’t just one person, we have an eclectic group of floral designers who have a wealth of creative knowledge and passion for flowers.

Stefanie Parkes

I have worked in the industry for over 14 years, and have been surrounded by flowers since I can remember, as my mother is a florist. My mother and I have been in partnership since I was 19, where she spotted my natural flare for floristry and bloomed under her wing.

She encouraged me to study floristry at College, where I enjoyed the freedom to relax in the classroom and let my style develop. I nurtured and embraced new techniques, fashions, and particularly how flowers are used through different eras and cultures.  This knowledge is now shared with my team and used every day in our store.

After a few years I started to teach Floral Art at the College where I was a student. This suited my creative imagination, and in the future I would like to offer something similar in our store for customers.

My aim at daisychain if to create a team of mater florists, i’m excited to say we are well on our way!

Everyone that meets me can instantly tell I live, breathe and love my work, our store and most importantly my team of ladies – as the song goes “we are family”.

My passion for flowers started after attending a Floral Art evening course, as I needed some creative simulation, and we gelled instantly.   I had a natural ability for creating imaginative designs, which had a commercial influence, making them attractive to family & friends who soon asked me to create something for them.  With hard work and determination I created ‘Daisychain’ and we are moving from strength to strength over 20 years later.

My first taste of floristry was at 15 when I had the opportunity to do my work experience at daisychain, I caught the bug so when a job as a trainee florist was advertised I jumped at the chance and never looked back almost 12 years later.   Daisychain sent my to college to get my qualifications, but I honestly can say I love my job, I’m constantly learning and developing new techniques. There’s never a dull day in our store, I love the team of ladies I work with, here’s to another 12 years!

Since the age of 10 I always knew I wanted to be a florist.  For me floristry isn’t a job, it’s a pleasure and a passion.  I left school and went straight into studying floristry where I completed my level 2 & 3.   College allowed me to find my style and let my creative imagination run wild.  My love for outdoors and nature shines through in my work, if I’m asked to create a design that represents “me” it will always look natural.  I’ve always worked in a florist, whether it is voluntary or paid! I need to be surrounded by flowers! I’ve been a member of the daisychain team for nearly a year and never been so inspired! Not only is it a pleasure to be doing the job I love but also it’s an honor to work with such lovely and talented ladies who share the same passion.

My passion with flowers started along with Stefanie at college, which I thoroughly enjoyed I then had a career break to start a family.  Recently Stefanie offered me an opportunity to join the daisychain team, she witness at college my natural artistic flair with flowers.  Being part of a talented experienced team inspires me to push myself further, everyday is a pleasure. I love my job.
